On 4 July 2019, the Centre for Aerospace & Security Studies (CASS), Islamabad, was inaugurated as Pakistan’s dedicated think tank on aerospace and security affairs, established under the aegis of the PAF. Conceived with the mandate of providing independent, comprehensive, and multifaceted insight on aerospace, emerging technologies, and national security, CASS has, over the past seven years, grown from a nascent research initiative into an actively cited platforms for aerospace related policy-relevant analysis. This growth has been shaped, in successive phases, by a very able team of directors, researchers, graphic designers, editors and administrative staff. Each year has left a distinct imprint on the Centre’s research culture, institutional rigor, and standing among policymakers and academics alike.
It is in this spirit that CASS celebrates its 7th anniversary aiming to reflect on the intellectual heritage, and formative decisions, defining research, and institutional lessons that have shaped the Centre, and the trajectory it must chart for the future.
