Muhammad Faizan Fakhar is serving as a Senior Research Associate at the Centre for Aerospace & Security Studies (CASS), Islamabad. He is a researcher, academic, and content producer specialising in strategic affairs, emerging technologies, and public policy. Mr Fakhar has extensive experience working with leading research institutes and academic institutions in Pakistan. His work includes primary research projects and book chapters, such as a field study on rising crime rate of crime in Pakistan and potential use of commercial drones for terrorism in Pakistan. His academic contributions also encompass peer-reviewed journal articles and opinion pieces in leading news outlets on subjects related to South Asian security dynamics and societal impacts of emerging technologies. Besides research, he also has experience of media and public communications. With Master’s in Strategic Studies from the National Defence University and Bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering, he brings a multidisciplinary approach to analysing complex issues at the intersection of technology, security, and society.
