RESEARCH ASSISTANT

 

Must-haves:

  • MSc/MA degree in Defence & Security Studies/International Relations/ Political Science/ Economics/ Public Policy or related field
  • 1-2 years’ experience in research & academia
  • 1 research paper published in HEC recognised journal
  • Strong aptitude for policy and interdisciplinary research
  • Experience in mixed methods research
  • Excellent English and Urdu language skills (reading, writing and speaking)
  • Ability to manage competing priorities under time pressure
  • Ability to work effectively within team/s
  • Proficiency in essential computer software, with advanced skills in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) for data analysis, document preparation and
    presentations

Preferred:

  • Hands-on experience in quantitative and qualitative software programmes (e.g.,
    R, SPSS, Nvivo or Quirkos etc.)
  • Experienced in recording meeting minutes, as well as writing reports, press releases and transcriptions with accuracy and attention to detail
  • Skilled in creating infographics, dashboards and other visual tools for the effective graphical representation and analysis of complex information

Responsibilities:

  • The Research Assistant will support CASS’ work in the following areas:
    Data collection, analysis and literature reviews
  • Report and research paper writing, including policy documents, opinion pieces
    and book reviews
  • Social media management
  • Data management and archiving
  • Networking, collaboration and effective communication of research findings
